J&PComputers Website Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the J&PComputers website (the “Website”) and before engaging with our services. By accessing or using any part of the Website, or by submitting a device for repair, upgrade, or software service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the Website or use any services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Your access to and use of this Website and our services are conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Website or our services.

By continuing to use this Website, Browse its content, making an enquiry, or engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. It is your responsibility to read these terms; your failure to do so does not exempt you from them.


2. Service Agreements

The following specific service agreements are incorporated into these Website Terms and Conditions. By engaging J&PComputers for any of the services described below, you explicitly agree to the terms of the relevant agreement in addition to these general Website Terms.

2.1. Agreement of Repair

This Agreement of Repair (“Agreement”) applies to all hardware repair services performed by J&PComputers.

Scope of Work

J&PComputers will perform the repair and/or diagnostic services as discussed with the Customer. We will endeavor to repair your device(s) to the best of our ability, using reasonable care and skill.

Limitation of Liability

You understand and agree that J&PComputers, including all staff, shall not be held liable for any further accidental damage (both software and/or hardware) that may occur during the repair process, transport, or while the device is in our possession. This includes, but is not limited to, data loss, pre-existing conditions, or new issues that may arise. It is your sole responsibility to back up all data on your device(s) prior to submitting it for repair. J&PComputers is not responsible for any data loss, corruption, or security breaches that may occur.

Payment Terms

Payment for all services rendered and/or parts supplied is due in full upon completion of the repair and/or diagnostic service and upon arrival for collection of your device(s).

Unclaimed Devices and Non-Payment

If, after 90 days from the date you are notified that your device(s) is ready for collection, full payment has not been made and/or the device(s) has not been collected by you, then the device(s) shall become the sole property of J&PComputers. In such circumstances, J&PComputers reserves the right to sell the device(s) and/or strip it for parts to recover the cost of the work performed, storage fees, and any other associated expenses.

Estimates and Quotes

Any quote provided by J&PComputers is an estimate only and is merely a guess based on the initial assessment. The final cost of repair may be less than or exceed the initial quote due to unforeseen issues, additional parts required, or increased labor time. We will endeavor to inform you of any significant changes to the estimated cost before proceeding with the work, but this may not always be possible.

Warranty on Repairs

J&PComputers offers a 90-day warranty on the specific repair work performed and parts replaced. This warranty covers defects in parts and workmanship directly related to the repair. It does not cover new issues, accidental damage, software problems not directly caused by our repair, or issues resulting from misuse or unauthorized attempts to repair the device(s) after it has left our possession. All warranties are void if the device shows signs of physical damage, liquid damage, or tampering.

Customer Responsibilities (Repair)

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information regarding the device’s history and symptoms.

  • Ensuring all personal data is backed up before submitting the device for repair.

  • Collecting your device(s) promptly once notified that it is ready.

  • Making full payment as per the terms outlined herein.


2.2. Agreement of Upgrade & Software Services

This Agreement of Upgrade & Software Services (“Agreement”) applies to all hardware upgrade, software installation, configuration, and/or software repair services performed by J&PComputers.

Scope of Work

J&PComputers will perform the agreed-upon hardware upgrade(s), software installation(s), configuration(s), troubleshooting, and/or software repair services as discussed with the Customer. We will endeavor to perform these services to the best of our ability, using reasonable care and skill.

Limitation of Liability (Software/Upgrade)

You understand and agree that J&PComputers, including all staff, shall not be held liable for any further accidental damage (both software and/or hardware) that may occur during the upgrade or software service process, transport, or while the device is in our possession. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Data loss or corruption: It is your sole responsibility to back up all data on your device(s) prior to submitting it for any upgrade or software service. J&PComputers is not responsible for any data loss, corruption, or security breaches that may occur.

  • Software incompatibility or conflicts: While we strive to ensure compatibility, J&PComputers is not responsible for unforeseen software conflicts, driver issues, performance degradation, or operating system instability that may arise from new software installations, upgrades, or hardware changes.

  • Pre-existing conditions: We are not responsible for pre-existing hardware or software issues that may be exacerbated or become apparent during or after the service.

  • Loss of functionality: Certain legacy software or hardware may not be fully compatible with new operating systems or upgraded components, potentially leading to a loss of specific functionalities.

Payment Terms

Payment for all services rendered and/or parts supplied (including hardware components for upgrades or software licenses if procured by J&PComputers on your behalf) is due in full upon completion of the service and upon arrival for collection of your device(s).

J&PComputers offers a 90-day warranty on the specific upgrade or software service performed and any new hardware components installed by us. This warranty covers defects in workmanship directly related to the service provided and defects in new hardware components installed by J&PComputers. It does not cover:

  • New issues, accidental damage, or software problems not directly caused by our service.

  • Issues resulting from misuse, unauthorized attempts to modify the device(s) or software, or changes made to the system after it has left our possession.

  • Software conflicts or performance issues arising from third-party software or drivers not installed by J&PComputers.

  • Issues with pre-existing hardware or software. All warranties are void if the device shows signs of physical damage, liquid damage, or tampering.

Customer Responsibilities (Software/Upgrade)

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information regarding the device’s history, current configuration, and desired outcome of the service.

  • Ensuring all personal data is backed up before submitting the device for any service.

  • Providing any necessary software licenses, product keys, or account credentials required for the installation or repair of software, where applicable.

  • Understanding that certain upgrades or software installations may alter the device’s performance, functionality, or user interface.

  • Collecting your device(s) promptly once notified that it is ready.

  • Making full payment as per the terms outlined herein.


3. Product Sales (No Returns or Warranty)

All sales of products (including, but not limited to, new or used hardware, components, accessories, or software licenses sold outright) by J&PComputers are final.

There are strictly no returns, refunds, exchanges, or warranties offered on any products sold by J&PComputers. This includes all express and implied warranties, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the suitability of the product before purchase. This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law which cannot be excluded or limited. However, where such rights can be limited (e.g., for business-to-business sales or specific product types), these limitations apply.


4. Abandoned Devices (General)

Any device left with J&PComputers that is not collected after 90 days from the date of drop-off, and for which no contact can be made with the customer, will be considered abandoned and disposed of at our discretion.


5. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Website or our services for any unlawful purpose or in any way that might harm, defame, or otherwise injure J&PComputers or any third party. This includes, but is not limited to, transmitting any material that is harassing, libellous, or obscene.


6. Intellectual Property

The content, design, and layout of this Website are the intellectual property of J&PComputers. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any portion of this Website without our express written consent.


7. Links to Other Websites

Our Website may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by J&PComputers. J&PComputers has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that J&PComputers shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites or services.


8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.


10. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Website or services after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
